A recipient of JPA Scholarship, Dr. Derreck Ng graduated from the International Medical University (IMU) in 2016. He was a Dean’s List student and was awarded the prestigious Dr. John Joseph Bosco Memorial Gold Medal for achieving the highest academic performance in his graduating medical class.
He began his paediatric training at Hospital Sultan Ismail, Johor Bahru (HSIJB) and obtained the internationally recognised Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH), United Kingdom in 2022. He subsequently served as a Paediatrician at Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom (HEBHK), gaining extensive experience in both tertiary and district hospital settings.
Dr. Derreck has broad clinical experience in general paediatrics and across multiple paediatric subspecialties, including neonatal intensive care (NICU), paediatric intensive care (PICU), paediatric neurology, developmental paediatrics, paediatric haemato-oncology, paediatric nephrology, respiratory medicine, and paediatric endocrinology. His special interests include nutrition & growth, child development, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language delay, learning difficulties, dyslexia, with a strong emphasis on early diagnosis, intervention, and supporting children’s overall health and development.
